sabIt was our first real vacation to THE wine country, Napa and Sonoma, back in 2003.  One of the first places we stopped was the Sebastiani Winery in the Plaza of downtown Sonoma.  The main reason we stopped here first was due to the fact that it was a winery I remember my parents really liked when they visited back in 1976, which was also the very first time I was in Sonoma at the age of 6.  Nostalgia aside, we learned to enjoy Sebastiani Cabernet Sauvignon all on our own and enjoyed it immensely and it has become a great value wine we like to enjoy for any occasion.

We started with the 1998 vintage back then, which was tremendous, and then later came the 2000 and 2001 which were pretty good as well.  Tonite, we try the 2005 Sebastiani Cabernet Sauvignon as it has been quite a while since we have enjoyed our good friend’s company.  The nose is much more fruity than we are used to and includes some tea, light oak, vanilla and a little heat (ALC).  Mouthfeel is full and complete with a lot of tannin, black fruit, cedar and leather.  I think you’ll really like this as an everyday type of wine that retails anywhere from $11-17 and often at your local grocery store… it really is a steal.
