Well, here we are already at the start of the 5th month of this no-longer very “new” year. I have great aspirations for this blog, my continuing wine education and social media growth and there are several opportunities in the works that have a real chance of coming to fruition soon. Unfortunately, there are only so many hours in the day and I have come to a point where I have to once again shift priorities with my work, hobbies, family and everything in between. I’ve always been the Jack of all trades, never one to give up, always biting off more than I could chew and rarely saying “No.” Much of these traits have elevated me to where I am today in my career and everything I do and for that I am grateful.
I want to say sorry to my friends (I consider my readers friends) that I have not kept up my promise this year that I would increase the frequency and quality of posts. I only made it a third of the way through April before I could not longer keep up the pace. It was fun and exhilarating and I think there is some pretty good work in those posts as well. There is just too much going on and I have to re-prioritize. When you realize you are unable to put absolutely 100% into everything you are doing, and are already doing it in 18-hour days (no I can’t stay up as late as Gary V.) then you need to focus on priorities where you can guarantee 100% effort will be the result.
No, I am not quitting the blog, though I am sure some of you may be wishing I would
I am just sharing with you, my friends, that at the current moment 1 post per day is not realistic until I can devote more time and 100% to the effort. And the posts need to be and will be of higher quality. At the moment, I need to finish up a 2-year effort of achieving my winemaker’s certificate from UC-Davis, which I will be able to complete June 14th. The last class on Quality Control and Analysis is sucking up some serious time and focus, and I love it!
Thanks for listening and Cheers!

wimp.
No, I totally get it. I’ve been on 2-3 posts (max) a week lately. Unlike you, however, I didn’t have the courtesy to apologize to my readers.
A quality post every few days is good. Honestly, I don’t know how many of us can visit all the blogs we want to read in one day anyway!
Hang in there Ed, you’ll finish UC-Davis soon and the Walla Walla trip is coming up too. These things will make you an even more knowledgeable and focused blogger & wine expert. We’ll be reading!
I appreciate the support, gents. There is a lot going on, but certainly there is an objective to achieve, so we can only go up from here…
I agree with Jason’s comment. Your current education and the upcoming Walla2 conference will be a great benefit to your readers. You’ll be able to bring a different level to wine blogging than a large majority out there. As for quality, you shouldn’t apoligize…3 good posts per week is better than 5-7 average posts…just look at my site – lol!
