Hey, Theo... thanks for commenting
_
Very two different wines in my opinion, but I don't feel like the Rose' overpowered it but I agree with your comparison of muscular vs. finesse. If that is possible between these two, I should definitely shift the order next time to see if there is a difference. Either way I think they both were pretty awesome and nothing like I've had before...

Considering you had two grower's Champagnes, it doesn't seem like you could go wrong there. I had the good fortune of visiting Champagne last year, and having been to Ambonnay and the Cote de Blanc, one of the most striking differences between the two wines, besides obviously using different grapes, is their styles. Ambonnay is considered very muscular while the Cote de Blanc tends to be more elegance and finesse. It seems you reached this conclusion as well, but I wonder if your preference for the Ambonnay had anything to do with it overpowering the Cramant in the comparative tasting?

Thanks once again to you, your wife and Alva for the wonderful evening. We'll be sure to do it again real soon.

I wonder what Alva popped in celebration of the Saints victory?
