Well, one of these days soon I am gonna have to get myself back to Atlanta and try some great food and wine. The last time I was there was during the Olympics, which was a very long time ago. I envy you your choice of wine bars!

Kimberly, thanks for the comment. Sorry to hear about the sports bar... I do love a good sports bar, but I love a good wine bar just as much. I just experienced a place here in suburban Atlanta that gives you options: Sip (taste), half glass, full glass, etc... great options for those who love to dance around the wine list.
Cheers!

I think the smaller format trend is a really great one. I saw that when I lived in DC about 5 years ago: a really nice selection of wines by the glass and half-glass at many places. As many as 40 wines by the glass, and half-glass, in some places. Well, at least one in particular that I'm thinking of. A truly wonderful way to experience lots of different wines without having to commit to a full bottle of anything! Now that I'm living back in small town North Carolina, I miss that lots. There is no place at all in my town to get wine by the half-glass. And the one place that had the very best by-the-glass selection -- probably numbering 50 or more -- closed, and got turned into a sports bar. Like the world needs another sports bar! No offense to sports bars, mind you. : )
