I have not had the luxury of tasting either of these wines yet, but hit the nail on the head regarding the history and stories you can get from some of these vets from the &quot;early years&quot; of CA wine.</description>

		<description>Thanks for the post! I learned about Thackrey in a 2004 or so article in GQ. Loved how the writer characterized him, in overalls,grizzled and hard, and it just reminded me of someone who loves what he does, and doesn&#039;t care about points or glory.

I&#039;m still waiting to get my hands on a bottle of Orion. I haven&#039;t tried very hard, mind you, but I look forward to tasting it one day.
