I love the analogy of Burgundy to the shy girl. After having so many over the top Pinots from Oregon and California, it's nice to turn to something a bit more subtle and refined that oftentimes only comes from the old world. Looking forward to reading about what other treasures you dig up from across the pond.

Thanks, Dennis, for the comment! Maybe we should get everyone together and do a Burg tasting... My vice has been Willamette Pinot, but I like CA Pinot as well... this is definitely new territory

Nice writeup Ed. I am on the same path right now, drinking and buying Burgs. After a few years engulfed in Cali pinot, I find my palate moving decidedly old world.
Thanks for the info here.
I've got some of the 2006 Hudelots to try. Chambolle Moose and the Bourgogne. Picked up some older Jadots, too.
Cheers.
