If you're going to Gundlach-Bundschu, try to stop by and see Dave Homewood at Homewood Wine, pretty close to there: http://www.homewoodwinery.com/

Okay, I'm done!

Moved to SoCo (Sonoma County) 3 years ago and love it! Do not miss the following spots on your tour: Bella Winery (chic boutique) and Alexander Valley Vineyards (gorgeous views and still -- rare these days -- family owned). Cheers!

I guess I'm in a typing mood tonight. I love Sonoma. If you get off at the Healdsburg exit, take a left on Dry Creek Rd., and you can spend a whole day there. My favs there are Dry Creek General Store for sammiches, and F. Teldeschi at the top of the hill behind it (Dan Teldeschi comes to Atlanta a lot because he's a big Nascar fan...Bill Wertzberger also makes his own wine). Passalacqua across the street has some good juice and nice views. Also, up the road about a mile- maybe less- there's a collection of wineries: Papapietro Perry, Amphora, Peterson, and Kokomo (who I think I got to start shipping to GA!). Anyway, have a great time. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't envious...
