Jonjie and I have been to Hinton's Wine Store, but it has been several year since we no longer reside in the Roswell area. It was cool back then and I know they had a separate room for tastings that was pretty nice. Maybe we should plan an event there?

One of my resolutions is going to be trying sparkling wines this year. Thanks for the great articles, can always count on you to do the extra research.

Here's an earlier article about Atlanta wine bars with enomatic systems: http://www.ajc.com/travel/content/printedition/2008/06/06/tastings.html . It focuses on the one in Decatur that Dirty mentioned. The article mentions another smaller one in Alpharetta (of all places!): http://thewinestoreinc.com/new_site/index.php . Chris Hinton, a former all-pro NFL player, is the owner. Hopefully these contraptions will become more common and more reasonable in the ATL. The Wine Room sounds like a cool place & good deal to me.

Ed - thanks for the info on "flight", I had not heard that term before you mentioned it in your "Red-Eye Flight" post from October.

And thanks again - I did not have a resolution for 2009. Now I do! More tastings (with friends and in-store), flights, and doing the robot. It is January 2nd and my quest begins this evening.

Ed-

Tastings in Decatur has a similar concept to the place in FL you mentioned. http://www.awineexperience.com But I find the concept to get a little pricey.

I'm a huge fan of in-store tasting. I buy very little now that I haven't tasted.

My favorite route- Set a theme, and get a bunch of friends together and open a ton of bottles.

Happy New Year Senor!
